Rigobert Bonne was a prolific French cartographer and the successor of Jacques Nicholas Bellin as head engineer and cartographer of the French Hydrographical Office. He is best knownfor the maps that he prepared for the Atlas de toutes les parties connues du globe terrestre accompanying Abbe Raynal's Histoire Philisophique et Politique des Etablissements et du Commerce des Europeens dans les deux Indes. The present map is Plate No. 28. (Liv. VI. et X) of the very and was first published in 1780. Few stains to blank margin, minimal toning to center fold, else bright and clean in very good condition. vg.
