Apart from the obvious black columns and mirror ring grain veneer, the interior of this desk is a testament to the high standard of craftsmanship that the Biedermeier era proved to hold. The base of the secretary holds 2 large locking draws, while the top holds 1 long hidden drawer. Behind the locking drop leaf desk is found 6 primary drawers. The upper portion is recessed behind columns and lined with paneled mirrors. Beyond the obvious drawers and cubbies, this secretary yields 5 additional hidden drawers and 8 hidden compartments. Several of this are revealed by latches that are again hidden within the design of the desk. This is a masterful piece of design and crafted from exquisite wood. fn/--.
