A black and white engraving of a scene of the bombardment of Fort Macon. Fort Macon was a Confederate fort until April 26, 1862 when the Union captured the fort as depicted in this scene. Originally published in "Harper's Pictorial History of the Civil War," the plate is 20 x 15 1/2 inches, nearly fine condition given the age.
