(Carte de la Louisiane et de la Floride) Originally published in the Atlas de Toutes le s Parties Connues du Globe Terrestrestat. The first state of Bonne's map of the Southeast United States. The map depicts Louisiana, a French colony, extending East to the Appalacians, at the expense of the English colonies to the East, including Georgia, the Carolinas, and Virginia. Inset is a map of the Missouri River before joining the Mississippi. At the bottom of the inset is the word "Supplement" which was removed in the second state of the map published starting in 1782. Exceptionally engraved and handcolored, 8 5/16" x 13" within plate, 9 3/4" x 14 5/8" at margins. Mild foxing around margins, two red ink stains on right margin, none effecting plate. vg+/--.
