A black and white engraving that depicts a scene of Foote's gun-boats ascending to attack Fort Henry in Tennessee. Fort Henry was the first important Union victory in the Civil War. Originally published in "Harper's Pictorial History of the Civil War," 16 1/4 x 11 1/2 inches, the text to the right side reads "Harper's History of the Great Rebellion," the top right corner indicates that it is page 228, mild chipping to the bottom edge, else in very good condition. There is a portrait of John A. McClernand to the back of the print. vg+/--.
